Ingredients:

  • 4-5 pieces of pork which are thinly cut
  • ¼ teaspoon of white pepper or you can also use black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of Shaoxing wine or white wine (whichever you prefer)
  • ¼ teaspoon of five spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of cornstarch
  • ¼ cup of soy sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon salt( you can use according to your taste)
  • 1 chopped onion of medium size
  • 4 chopped green onions
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • Rice (boiled)
  • Green leafy vegetables

Instructions:

Now let’s come towards the main steps of making the pork chops:

Combine all these ingredients and mix them thoroughly.

Now let us come towards the most crucial step which is marinating:

Marinate the pork pieces from 20 to 60 minutes at best.

Marinating the pork pieces more than 60 minutes can make them more saline and salty and you definitely don’t want that to happen to your precious metal.

While the pork is being marinated you can boil the rice and cut all the vegetables which you are going to serve with the pork chops at the end.

The rice and vegetables are optional. You can also use olives or mushrooms to serve your chops with.

Now add two tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan or an iron skillet and let it get heated for a little while.

You don’t want the marinated ingredients to come with your bite especially garlic so just discard the leftovers from the marinated pieces and singe the pork pieces on one side for at least 1 minute.

Now turn the heat down to the medium level and keep on cooking the pork chops on each side for 4-5 minutes or even more time until the pieces are thoroughly cooked and still juicy.

Prefer the bone-in pork chops instead of the boneless meat because the bone-in means that the meat would not dry out while cooking because you don’t want to eat the meat stiff and hard.

Also, the bone-in part of the chops has more amount of fat to be tender.

While the chops are still being cooked, you can take any leafy green vegetable of your choice and sauté them in the pan you are cooking the chops.

You can sauté the vegetables with garlic and extra oil if you like.

Serve the chops with the sautéed vegetable and the boiled rice.
